DNS records are important as they determine where web traffic, emails, and other services linked to your domain<\/a> will be routed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How can you Manage the DNS Zone on IONOS?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Having control over your Domain Name System (DNS) at IONOS permits you to point your domain towards different services such as website and email hosting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Accessing Your DNS Management<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

  1. Through www.Ionos.com, go to log in to your account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. When logged in, head on over to Domains and SSL from the Main Menu.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Find the appropriate domain under the Domains list that you\u2019d like to manage and click either on the gear button or the \u201cDNS\u201d link next to it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    2. Adding a DNS Record<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    1. In the relevant zone of management systems, click the button Add Record.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Choose from A, CNAME, MX, or TXT record types.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Fill in the required information in empty fields with hostname and value\/destination along with TTL( Time To Live).   <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Click Save.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      3. Editing a DNS Record<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      1. Search for the required record within the RRs of the relevant zone that you would like to change.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. Click the edit icon next to that specific record.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      3. Change necessary fields as needed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      4. Click Save.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        4. Removing a DNS Record<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

        1. Go to the DNS management page and find the record that you wish to delete.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        2. Click on the trash bin icon (delete) adjacent to the record.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        3. Confirm your choice when asked.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          Reminder: It may take some time for worldwide changes (propagation) to update, usually from a few minutes up to several hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
