This article will illustrate the process of adding an existing SSH key to WHM for accessing your account through SSH. You will need root privileges for this.<\/p>\n

Login to WHM and go to Home > Security Center > Manage Root\u2019s SSH Keys<\/strong><\/p>\n

Then follow the steps mentioned below:<\/p>\n

1.<\/strong> Click on the Import Key<\/strong><\/p>\n

2.<\/strong> Enter some Name<\/strong> for this key in the first field<\/p>\n

3.<\/strong> Paste the public key in the corresponding field<\/p>\n

4.<\/strong> Click on Import<\/strong><\/p>\n

You will also find fields for Password<\/strong> and Private Key<\/strong> which are not required.<\/p>\n

The next step is to authorize this key for the root user. In order to do this, go back to this option – Manage root\u2019s SSH keys<\/strong> and then click on the Manage Authorization<\/strong> option.<\/p>\n

The last step is to click on the Authorize<\/strong> button. After this, you can login to your server as root using this key.<\/p>\n
