URL masking means visitors to your domain name will be directed\u00a0to your destination website, but the URL in their browser address bar will remain the same.<\/p>\n

The below method enables you to mask a particular part of your website’s address.<\/p>\n

For example, if you browse:\u00a0http:\/\/yourdomain.com\/something<\/strong><\/p>\n

the content that will be displayed can be the one under: http:\/\/yourdomain.com\/something\/else<\/strong><\/p>\n

The URL in the visitor’s address bar will still remain as: http:\/\/yourdomain.com\/something<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This can be done by adding the below rules into your website’s .htaccess file:<\/p>\n

RewriteEngine On\r\nRewriteRule ^something\/?$ \/something\/else\/<\/pre>\n
Ensure that you substitute something<\/strong> and else<\/strong> with the actual directories that you are using on your website.<\/p>\n
You can also modify the .htaccess file in your MilesWeb hosting account via the File Manager<\/strong> in cPanel.<\/p>\n
