Watch this video for a step by step process on how to Change your MySQL Root Password via WHM
Logging in to your MySQL account allows you to access and manage your server’s databases. The MySQL account belongs to a different application than WHM. Thus, your WHM root account credentials will not work for logging in to MySQL as it has its own username and password. However, you can change the login details like MySQL root password to this account with the WHM panel.
To Change your MySQL Root Password
1. Log in to WHM with your root account.
2. Search and select SQL Services from the navigation menu.
3. Click on MySQL Root Password.
The system assigns a random string as the MySQL Root Password by default.
4. You will have to enter the new password twice.
Note: The root password should be a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.
Alternatively, you can also use the Password Generator button that will produce a random string that you can copy and paste as a strong password. We recommend you copy the password somewhere so that you can use it again.
Tick the box beside “I have copied this password in a safe place.” Click the Use Password button.
5. Click the Change Password button.
The system will assign the new password for your MySQL root account. The next time you log in to your MySQL root account, you will have to use the new password.
