MilesWeb builds the connection between a Node.js application and a Supabase database directly. So there’s nothing to edit in your code or configure manually for connection strings. The integration runs through cPanel itself. Here’s precisely how the process works.
Before you begin, confirm the following:
- A working Node.js application is already deployed.
- The database is hosted on Supabase, a third-party provider.
MilesWeb allows Node.js applications to connect with externally hosted databases from providers like Supabase, covering:
- PostgreSQL
- MySQL
- MongoDB
Steps to Connect a Supabase Database to a Node.js Website
- Open cPanel and navigate to your Node.js application dashboard.
- Locate the Database option under the Essentials section, then select Connect
- Choose Supabase from the list of providers and click Continue.
- MilesWeb will redirect you to Supabase, where you’ll need to sign in to your account.
- Once your account is authorised, decide whether to Connect an existing database or Create a new database.
- For an existing database, pick the relevant project from your Supabase list and confirm by clicking Continue.
- MilesWeb pulls the necessary environment variables automatically and applies them the next time your app is deployed.
Note: MilesWeb does not make any code changes to your application. The connection depends on your website’s code and structure already being built to use that database.
Congratulations. You have successfully connected your Supabase external database to your MilesWeb Node.js application.
Once the connection goes live, MilesWeb takes care of credential retrieval, environment variable setup, and deployment syncing on its own — none of that needs manual attention. Tables, access policies, and queries still live in Supabase’s dashboard, since that’s where actual database management happens. By hosting the application and keeping those environment variables current, MilesWeb keeps the two platforms working together without extra effort on your part.
