New Domain Name: The domain name that you have used for your addon domain.
Subdomain/FTP Username: While adding a new domain to your account, cPanel will be able to automatically configure an additional FTP user for this domain.
Document Root: It is basically a directory where you have to upload website contents.
Password: The password here is the FTP password for the FTP user mentioned.
Steps to Add an Addon Domain in cPanel
- Login to your cPanel account with the username and password.
2. Now, under the Domains section go to Addon Domains.
3. Enter the New Domain Name under Create an Addon domain.
4. Then both, the Subdomain and Document Root will be filled in automatically.
5. If you want to create a separate FTP account for the addon domain, check the small box. Once checked, you will get to see the text boxes of FTP username and password. Simply enter your FTP username and password.
Once all the steps are done, click on Add Domain.
