Google Chrome is a powerful search engine with a plethora of features and settings. Its store contains different extensions to enhance the functionality of a web browser. One extension is for clearing the cache. In today’s date, clearing the cache is a common task because all information stored in the browser may be invalid or outdated. Piling up this data and information affects the browser’s performance. Hence, we have brought this guide to use the Clear Cache extension in web browser.

Introduction

A Clear Cache Extension is a powerful tool that helps quickly and easily clear their browser cache within a few clicks. With just simple automation, it saves time and ensures the latest website versions are loaded.

How to Install and Use the Clear Cache Extension?

Install the Extension

  • Google Chrome: Go to the Chrome Web Store and search for “Clear Cache” extensions. Some popular ones include “Clear Cache” or “Click&Clean.”
  • Firefox: Visit the Firefox Add-ons store and search for similar extensions like “Clear Cache” or “Cache Cleaner.”
  • Edge: Navigate to the Microsoft Edge Add-ons store and find a suitable cache-clearing extension.

After finding the extension in the store, complete and confirm the installation process.

Pin the Extension

  • Once the installation is completed, you can see the extension installed on the browser’s toolbar. And if you don’t see or click it, click the puzzle icons from the menu icon and choose the extension to pin it into the toolbar for quick access.

Access the Extension

  • Click on the extension icon from your browser’s toolbar. This will open the extension’s interface.

Customize Settings

  • Some extensions offer customization options, like selecting the types of cache to clear.
  • You can also choose to clear data from a specific website or for all websites.

Clear Cache

  • Once you make the preferred settings, click the Clear Cache button in the extension. It immediately removes the cached data from the browser.

Confirm and Reload

  • You might have to refresh the page you are on after clearing the cache. This can typically be achieved by clicking the refresh button in your browser, or by pressing Ctrl + R (Windows) or Cmd + R (Mac).
  • That’s it! The cache is cleared, and now, when you access websites, your browser will load new data.
