How to Point a Domain to IONOS?

If your domain is registered with MilesWeb or another registrar but you’re using IONOS hosting, updating your domain’s nameservers is mandatory.

Are you using MilesWeb or another provider? Here’s what to follow:

Step 1: Access Your IONOS Nameserver Details

Before pointing the domain, you need to retrieve IONOS’s nameserver values.

• Open your IONOS account.
• Navigate to Domains & SSL.
• Click the Set up existing domain option and then tap Select domain.
• Choose the IONOS Name server.

Note down the IONOS nameservers that appear like

• ns1045.ui-dns.com
• ns1045.ui-dns.de
• ns1045.ui-dns.org
• ns1045.ui-dns.biz

Usually, providers offer four nameservers, which you need to use all.

Step 2: Find the DNS Settings of Your Domain

Follow the steps below carefully for domains managed via MilesWeb:

• Log into MilesWeb’s client area with your username and password.
• Look for the Domains tab and then visit the My Domains.
• Carefully pick a domain name to initiate the IONOS configuration.
• Click on the Manage Domain option.

On successful completion of the above steps, you can change your nameservers.

Step 3: Update Nameservers to IONOS

• Opt for the custom nameservers option.
• Properly change the four nameservers of IONOS in your domain settings:
  • ns1045.ui-dns.com
  • ns1045.ui-dns.de
  • ns1045.ui-dns.org
  • ns1045.ui-dns.biz
• 3. Save all your changes before proceeding further.

That’s it. Now, your domain is successfully connected with the IONOS platform.
