Titan Email is an effective professional email service for businesses that wish to communicate effortlessly under their custom domain. If you are using Titan Email and have your domain hosted on MilesWeb, it is essential to set up your MX (Mail Exchange) records accurately to ensure that your email services work seamlessly.
MX records are essentially DNS entries that dictate where your emails should be sent over the internet. If the MX records are configured incorrectly, there is a risk of missing emails, and you might have to deal with email delivery problems as well. This guide covers what Titan Email MX records are, how to set them up in MilesWeb’s mPanel, and recommended practices to mitigate these problems.
What Are MX Records?
MX records (Mail Exchange records) are part of the DNS system that assigns mail servers to accept incoming email. When setting up your domain with Titan Email, you must replace any existing MX records with those from Titan, or else emails will not be received on the Titan servers.
Titan Email MX Record Settings
The following are the Titan Email MX records, which you must incorporate in your domain’s DNS zone.
Type | Host | Points to (Mail Server) | Priority |
MX | @ | smtp.titan.email | 10 |
MX | @ | smtp2.titan.email | 20 |
Host (@): This is the equivalent of your root domain in the form of yourdomain.com.
Points to: These are Titan’s email servers.
Priority: A lower number indicates a higher priority. Emails will initially be routed to smtp.titan.email. If this is unavailable, routing will switch to smtp2.titan.email.
