Using the IP Deny Manager in cPanel to Block or Unblock IP Address or a Domain

This knowledgebase post describes how to use the IP Deny Manager in cPanel to block the IP addresses or specific domain from accessing your website. For example, you can use this feature to block visitors that send spam traffic to your website or post spammy comments on your blog posts.

Blocking an IP address or a domain

To block an IP address or a domain in the IP Deny Manager, follow these steps:

  1. In the Security section of the main screen of cPanel, click IP Deny Manager.
  2. In the IP address or domain text box, type the IP address or a domain that you want to block.
  3. Click Add.

Unlocking an IP address or a domain

You can unlock an IP address or a domain that you have blocked previously.

To unlock an IP address or domain in the IP Deny Manager, follow these steps:

  1. In the Security section of the main screen of cPanel, click IP Deny Manager.
  2. Locate the IP address you want to unlock and then click the red X.
  3. Click Remove IP to confirm.
